Good Afternoon Warren Students, Families, and Staff,
This is Dr. Tim Hanson, Superintendent of Schools for MSD Warren Township, with some very important announcements for the week of July 13th and the start of the 22-23 school year.
Wow! Thank you to the hundreds of families who attended the 2nd annual MCRC Back to School Event last evening. A big shout out to the Moorhead Community Resource Center staff, the Warren Arts and Education Foundation, staff from each of our school’s and our community partners for planning this incredible event!
MSD Warren Township in partnership with the Indiana Immunization Coalition will be providing a clinic to accommodate immunizations required for school age children and the COVID vaccine for individuals 5 years and older on Monday, July 18th at Moorhead Community Resource Center from 3:00 - 6:00p.m. Families are encouraged to pre-register for this event. The registration link for the immunization clinic is patients.vaxcare.com/registration. After clicking on the link, enter the enrollment code, IN65942, and then select Warren Schools-7/18. Linked here and below are the required immunizations for school age children for the 22-23 school year.
School Registration remains available online for the 22-23 school year. Both current Warren students and students new to Warren may register online. K-8 schools will be welcoming parents and students back for an in-person registration event on Tuesday, July 19th from 11am to 7pm. This is a great opportunity to visit your child's school, collect 22-23 school year details, and meet key staff members.
Warren Central High School registration will kick off on Tuesday, July 19 from 2pm to 7pm for students in grades 10-12. All incoming Freshman should plan on attending orientation on July 20th or 21st. We will have a total of four sessions:
July 20th 11:30am - 1:30pm and 5:30pm - 7:30pm
July 21st 11:30am - 1:30pm and 5:30pm - 7:30pm
Schools will be sending messages out detailing specific registration information next week.
There are still a couple of days remaining for students who were in 8th grade during the 2021-22 school year and have not yet applied for the 21st Century Scholarship Program. The deadline is July 15th to apply. This opportunity can provide 4 years of college tuition to income-eligible students at Indiana Colleges and Universities. You can TEXT the word "college" to 317-597-8068 OR visit the website: LearnMoreIndiana.org/scholars/enroll
As we prepare for the upcoming school year in the area of child nutrition, we are asking for students who have food allergies, food intolerances, or other dietary needs, to please have your medical provider fill out a Special Diet Statement. If the student has a food allergy requiring medication in the event of a reaction, have your medical provider fill out both a Special Diet Statement and a Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Emergency Care Plan form. Both forms can be found here. Please return completed forms before the first day of school to Shannon Jones via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Enjoy the rest of your week and please reach out to your child’s school if you need assistance for the 22-23 school year.
