CLUBS
MATH BOWL is an academic team competition focused solely on mathematics skills. Our Grassy Creek team is composed of fourth grade students who have demonstrated high math abilities in the classroom. Students compete against other children at the same grade level during a district competition early each spring. It is a fun and exciting opportunity where students get the chance to learn new math skills and work cooperatively in groups for a common purpose. Practice begins in late fall/early winter and continues until the date of competition.
Grassy Creek STUDENT COUNCIL is comprised of student representatives who act as ambassadors for the entire student body. These student-leaders display a strong commitment to the educational process, school environment, fellow students, and school personnel. Students participating in the student council maintain a high standard of personal conduct, and serve as positive examples of behavior through their words and actions. Members of student council attend two before-school meetings each month. The responsibilities of the student council may include: voicing student opinions, proposing solutions for general school issues, promoting school spirit, supporting events such as Breakfast with Santa, tutoring of younger students, assisting with various school-wide jobs, and supporting service and fundraising projects.
