Elementary Summer Enrichment
Warren Township will offer Summer Enrichment opportunities over the summer to elementary students, kindergarten-4th grade. There will be a charge of $10.00 per student, per class.
JUNE 10 – 14 at Liberty Park Elementary 8:45 A.M. – 11:45 A.M.
*Time Travel: Ancient Egypt—Have you heard of mummies? Pharaohs? The Egyptian Pyramids? Come learn about Ancient Egypt this summer! We will build pyramids, make mummies, dig for hidden treasure and learn how to write with hieroglyphics.
*Recycled Materials Art Project—We will be studying how to reuse materials to help the environment. Students will create an art project out of recycled materials.
JUNE 17 – 21 at Pleasant Run Elementary 8:45 A.M. – 11:45 A.M.
*Cardboard Adventures—Playing with boxes can be so much fun! Take it to the next level and those boxes into something even more imaginative. Students will be invited to use their imagination and creative ideas to use cardboard and craft supplies to make a variety of creations.
*A Whirlwind Tour of Aerodynamics (paper airplanes)—We will learn the science behind flight and how to construct a paper airplane. We will design various paper airplanes and test for the best results.
*iCreate on iPad—What do you want to create this summer? Minecraft codes? Stopmotion iMovies? Games? Garage band music? QR codes? Join your Warren friends for hours full of creative fun; no experience required.
JUNE 24 – 28 at Lakeside Elementary 8:45 A.M. – 11:45 A.M.
*Drumming All the Way—Students will be part of a collaborative group that will demonstrate the ability to play together and support each other’s unique personal rhythm. Students will gain understanding of importance of drum circles.
*Candy Experiments—We will conduct candy themed science experiments.
*Learning in the Garden—Hands-on learning about soil, plants, seeds, and many other gardening related skills.
July 8 – 12 at Lakeside Elementary 8:45 A.M. – 11:45 A.M.
*Math Games Galore—Students will participate in fun and competitive math games with their peers. Students will be able to make and take games at camp for at home play!
*Dinosaur Explorers—Explorers, be ready to learn about and investigate dinosaurs and fossils they left behind for us to find.
*Understanding Robotics—Engineering is COOL! Using the components of a VEX IQ building system, students will design, build, and test parts of a robot which include the drive train, lift system, and claws in order to play the game, “Squared Away”.
*Let’s Play Piano—Students will be able to play simple songs using the 5-finger piano method.
