       The new album “If I can’t have love, I want power” is singer and songwriter Halsey's Fourth album. That is not all they have put together for this album, they have also filmed and starred in their own movie with the same title as the album. The 26-year-old artist, known for their visuals, is taking their first dive into filming with the IMAX presentation. Collaborating with director Colin Tilley, who they previously worked with on videos for “Without Me” and “You Should Be Sad,” the film takes its fantasy-inspired and has visual cues from something between “Game of Thrones” and “Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette.”
      Halsey has not released any singles, only increasingly gory, fantastical trailers and a theatrical unveiling of the album artwork and cover. The record itself has a tight, internal focus. It's about walking the line between self-preservation and self-destruction, control and compulsion, the thrill and terror of getting what you want. 
      Instead of sieving these themes through elaborate architecture, Halsey lets the horror of the body, of the mind, of mortality radiate outward. The result is alluring and spectral. On the opening tracks, they create a psychedelic Gothic fairytale wisp of wind, an icy piano, a churning undercurrent listed in the credits as a “menacing beat,” while Halsey sings about loneliness, crowns, and Judas.
      Another album that the singer has done is called “Hopeless Fountain Kingdom.” This is one of their more successful albums that has done well in the past. This album has had songs on the radio and still does to this day even though it was released in 2017 and is considered a Double platinum album. One of the most popular songs, "Alone," reached number 66 on the Hot 100, was certified Platinum by the RIAA, and reached number one on the U.S. Dance Club Songs chart.
      Their new album “If I can’t have love, I want power “ has little sounds that are similar to their “Hopeless Fountain Kingdom” album. At the same time, this album has its own vibe and sounds that can’t be compared to other albums because it’s so unique in its own way. It sounds like it is in medieval times but getting more into the album it turns into an alternative rock sound. In the first week alone, this album got so big that the song “I am not a woman, I am a god” hit number one on the “billboard top 100 charts.”
