The “Terrifier” trilogy has been widely talked about since the announcement of the third movie, which came out in theaters on Oct. 11. The first of the three movies came out in 2016, while the second was released in 2022. The “Terrifier” movies are mostly known for their main character, the “demonic” Art the Clown played by David Howard Thornton. The director Damien Leone created the character for his short film in 2006, he then continued to create more content around the character, which led him to make the first movie in 2016.

Without spoiling too much of “Terrifier 3,” instead of being based around Halloween like the previous films, “Terrifier 3” is based around the Christmas season. On the other hand, like the previous films, there is an enormous amount of gore, and many moviegoers had to leave within the first 10 minutes just because of how uneasy the scenes made them feel. There are also many child deaths in this film, which are uncomfortable. For those who are interested in movies like this, or for those who just want to give the movie series a shot, it is a good option. But for those who know these things make them uneasy it's not recommended unless they think they can handle it.

In the first movie, viewers start with a disheveled woman in a hospital rehabilitation center, and then they start to follow Art on Halloween night as he follows two women, Tara and Dawn. Dawn sees her tires are slashed after drunkenly leaving a party, which makes her call her sister Victoria, who is the third girl he follows. This movie shows some of his supernatural powers after he ends up shooting himself when the cops arrive and are taken to the morgue. Viewers then see Victoria released from the hospital after rehabilitation, which lets the viewers know these events took place the year prior.

The second movie's plot doesn’t connect much to the first other than Art still being the main antagonist. He is resurrected by a mysterious entity then kills the coroner in the morgue. He goes to a laundromat to clean his blood-soaked clothing and finds a pale-faced little girl, and a man who was once sleeping at the laundromat is now watching Art play a hand game with the air, since he can't see the little girl. The main characters in this movie are Sienna and her brother Jonathan. Jonathan is fascinated by the massacre that happened the year prior involving Art after he sees the art of him in their deceased father’s sketchbook. After some insane circumstances, they show their mother this sketchbook and find newspaper clippings of Art's first victim, Emily Crane, who turns out to be the pale little girl seen throughout the movie. Sienna is lured into “The Terrifier” attraction at the old abandoned carnival after having a panic attack while with friends at a Halloween party, and it then shows the little pale girl mocking Jonathan as he pleads for a ride home. Sienna goes searching alone after an argument with her friends until she is then beaten unconscious after discovering the bodies of the people she was with. At the end of the movie, Art stabs Sienna with her father's sword and throws her into a portal to hell where she rediscovers the “Clown Cafe.” She ends up dying but is resurrected by the sword, then decapitates Art as he bites into Jonathan’s leg. The little girl takes Art’s head and leaves the two there.

The second “Terrifier” movie connects to the third in a very odd way, when Victoria ends up giving birth to Art’s head. The third movie shows Art and Victoria eating a nurse’s body after the officer on duty goes to check on the nurse. That’s when they go to the house and sit until the workers find them around Christmas time.

Again, those who don’t do well with extensive amounts of gore should know that these movies are typically centered around that. The creepiness in the way Art’s character doesn’t make any sounds but is still extremely expressive ties the movies together well. There have already been talks and speculation for a fourth movie to come out in the near future.

It is set to come out on Prime on November 26.
